The Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos de Valencia announced, a few months ago, a new edition of the National Painting Prize that this year turns 22 years old. To this award, for which there is only one winner, more than 400 works were presented, of which the jury selected 12. Of the 12 finalist works is 'Fuga' by the artist from Xàbia, Tomás Sivera, which is exhibited in l'Espai d'Art Contemporani of El Corte Inglés de Colón in Valencia.

Sivera's painting has remained on the verge of obtaining this national award, but the artist himself is satisfied with the result, "I have not managed to be the winner, but being among the 12 works selected from more than 400 is all an honor".

The first and only prize awarded in this call, endowed with 5.000 euros, has been for Josep Tornero, who also, during the next year, will carry out a monographic exhibition, with a catalog, of his recent work, put on sale, in the Espai d 'Art Contemporani of El Corte Inglés Colón (5th Floor).

The exhibition with the selected works, among which is that of Tomás Sivera, will remain open for the public who wishes to visit until July 18 at the Espai d 'Art Contemporani of El Corte Inglés Colón in Valencia (5th Floor) .
