History
Its founding story comes from 2005, when four friends make the decision to join before the possibility of forming a new row it dwells since two had recently been created on the Christian side. Thus, this small group begins to work to become the minimum members to parade.
And in just one year since its foundation, in 2006, the Filà Xibia takes the streets of Duanes de la Mar, with enthusiasm, and performs its first parade with a total of nine people. Now, almost 20 years later, and being a larger row, they continue with the same enthusiasm for living the Moors and Christians festivities Xàbia.
Members
The growth of Xibia in these 16 years has been overwhelming. From starting with a squad of nine components to being, at present, around 30 women divided into three squads (15 adults, 10 youth and girls/boys). In these years there have been changes in its components, with a total of 32 that have ever appeared in the squad and only two that have appeared every year.
Origin of the name 'Xibia'
The name that hosts this Filà is 'Xibia', name with which the Arabs called the town of Xàbia and related to the "abundance" according to Valencian historians.
According to the logo that represents the filà in the banner, it is formed by the moon and the sea, the union of both forms a portal. In addition, the lyrics are based on the Koran, classical Arabic and is a greeting that means, Salam Alaikum (peace be upon you).

Costumes and music
The components of Xibia They tell about their clothes that have two different costumes. On the one hand he was screaming at her and on the other the big pants with a shirt and belt. Xibia He has gone out to parade with brightly colored suits and golden metals, as well as with African costumes with feathers and ornamentation more sufficient but with colors no less striking and very vivid. Now, after his career and consolidation at parties, the filà indicates that "We are quite faithful to a style and we can say that we have already found our own entity, the style of African warriors with colorful costumes accompanied by elaborate makeup and hairstyles is our symbol in gala dress." This change occurred in the year 2010, which was the first parade in which they came out in a suit of African warriors.
And sample of it was reflected in the parade of the year of his captaincy, in the 2015, where the costume of the first day of the parade, Saturday, was characterized by imposing lions like helmets and were accompanied by a beating horse.
On the second day of the parade, Sunday, and day of wearing the captaincy, the Filà Xibia transported the public to the deepest and most wild of the African lands with the appearance of a camel, the float of African children and the squads of small warriors and warriors showing the magnitude and the varied chromatism of the African tribes.
The page followed with a striking army of exotic animals such as water buffalo, bulls, llamas, wildebeest and ostriches that gave way to Monica Leal, Captain 2015, on the backs of a rhinoceros ram. But in the parade he continued to show his African symbol with dromedaries, tribal dance "Magic savannah", beating horses tamed by Amazons and a group of torches, representing the fire, and opening the passage of the official square of the Filà Xibia wearing an owl in the suit.

Registrations
Before the arrival of new components, Xibia always has the doors open. They have not determined specific dates to become part of the filà since they affirm that if someone, during the holidays, is attracted to enter the filà they can even go out to parade that same year as long as they have available costumes.
Anyway, after the end of the festivities (July), in September, the filà holds its first annual meeting for the next holidays and it is that moment when it is usually determined who are still the members of the row with the payment of the first installment. All these issues are decided by vote among all the components of the row.
Anecdotes
The components of the Filà Xibia remember, now with love and laughter, one of the moments they faced before a parade, "It was an impressive orange suit, but as we were dressing to go out to parade, we liked it less and less, so we decided, in an act of rebellion, or to remedy the irremediable, take pieces off the suit and undo a layer of gauze that covered the shoulders ".
From this row they also remember, with nostalgia, the big parties they held in the tents when many of the lines were in the enclosed area next to the sports hall.
