History

Al-Tarik's is part of the side of the crescent moon Festivities of Moors and Christians from Xàbia. It was founded in 1995 by festive members related to the party since its inception, some of them being founders of the Moors and Christians festivities of Jávea in 1978, and former members of the Filà Jalufos.

Their first parade was in July 1995, forming a squad of men and another of women. The formation of the female Filà was formed, for the most part, by the women of the men who had created the filà and some other invited women.

Crier

In 2011, José Cardona, founder of the filà, taking advantage of the captaincy of the Moorish formation, wanted to be the crier of the festivals. The basis of his proclamation was the origin of the Moorish invasion of our peninsula, by the warrior TARIK, from the year 711 until his expulsion.

Sant Jaume Award

José Cardona, founder of the Al-Tarik's filà and promoter of the Moros i Cristians festivals, since he also formed Jalufos, received the Sant Jaume award in 2015 as a symbol of his dedication and dedication to these festivities.

Suits

Like most of the ranks, the members of Al-Tarik's have two suits, the daily uniform, consisting of two types of suits and the gala suit.

Al-Tarik's is characterized, in its clothing, by wearing costumes called 'Blacks', which draws attention for its various colors, abundant colored and metal beads, the capes and highlighting the animal horns on the helmet with a variety of feathers. Makeup is also one of the attractions of this filà at the time of the Gala Parade.

In the daily uniform, it is made up of a bottle green djellaba and an Arab hat of the same color. On the other hand, they also have a suit made up of a yellow shirt and a green felt vest with embroidery and a Filà crest on the back.

As for the women's costume, which paraded from 1995 to 2013, it was also based on the same line.

Music

The Filà Al-Tarik's in Xàbia has its own Moorish March that was expressly composed for them and which is entitled: 'Tarik's'.

But also, in the Gala parades, its members parade with the marches: 'Chimo', 'Caravana' and 'Exodo'.

Banner

The banner of the Filà Al-Tarik's represents the Arab portal in larger size which groups together the coat of arms of Jávea and the Muslim swords.
