For thirteen years, a solitary photographer traveled through the remote geography of popular Spanish religiosity with that visionary tenacity that only great teachers can display who know that it is in small rural parties and ceremonies that he hides, oblivious to the camera's objectives. more epidermal, the true heart of a people.
Camouflaged in the landscape, naturally integrated among the peasantry, the photographer looked without judging, tried to understand and, only when before his frame the contradictory relationships between the Party and the Devotion were composed in all their visual complexity, did he shoot without hesitation. He had every right to do it, because he did it from honesty.
This is the work of Xavier Ferrer Chust that can be seen, in Ca Lambert, from September 18 to October 20, entitled oremus and that is part of the activities included in the Red Eyes Photography Festival.
