El Club Nautico de Javea has organized, for this summer, an exhibition of photographs of Xàbia by the hand of Javier Díez. The sample, titled Raw Jávea - Xàbia, is made up of 25 images in size 60 × 90 of special edition in Giclée print on one hundred percent cotton paper.
The exhibition, located in the social rooms of the Nautical Club, can be visited from July 4 to September 30.
Javea raw, from north to south
Raw, raw in English, is a visual journey, a dialogue of textures between the ends of Sant Antoni and La Nao. The exhibition, by the Valencian film director Javier Díez, is a scenographic contrast of the coast of Jávea, Alicante, from an intimate and reflective perspective, facing the color, saturation, overpopulation and overexposure in a high key of the Javiense summer.
Raw is also an image capture format. She transforms the states of winter into a poetic catalyst for a light that Sorolla captured in her day and that today transforms Díez to grayscale.
Raw is the result of different moments of maximum expression collected over three years, in which the skies and the sea offer their highest point of drama. Javier Díez, fascinated by the sea and Jávea, stands on both sides of the coastline to capture a resounding nature, in which the Mediterranean collides with the rough stone that marks many of Xabia's geographical features, while the sky heavy vaulted over the bay.
Water as a constant reference: diluted in the monumentality of the sea, invading caves, housed in landfalls, forming salty pools, resting in the basins of the "montares", as a mirror of the clouds or forming a horizon for sailors.
In the empire of the 'sefie' and the 'selfish'; the author, influenced by the 'landscapism' of the classic photographer Ansel Adams, pays tribute and testifies to the nature free of humanity, through 25 snapshots.
