The third edition of the Sonafilm Festival, the Marina Alta Film Music Festival, completed the capacity allowed on Saturday, August 21 in the Ondara bullring. The Universal Symphony Orchestra delighted the audience for two hours dedicated to epic cinema.
The first part of the concert was a tribute to "The Lord of the Rings", since Peter Jackson's trilogy celebrated 20 years since its premiere. One of the surprises of the night was the projection of images from the films to the rhythm of the pieces performed by the Universal Symphony Orchestra. In addition, the CODA children's choir also participated with a brilliant performance.
The second part of the festival was dedicated to another variety of older films, such as "Lawrence of Arabia", "Gone with the Wind", "The Magnificent 7" or "Rocky". As in the first part, images of the films were projected to the sound of the themes performed by the Universal Symphony Orchestra.
For its part, the Sonafilm organization wanted to surprise the public with the unexpected participation of the Cor de la Rectoria, a novelty that had not been announced.
Finally, the Universal Symphony Orchestra performed the piece "Ecstasy of Gold" from the movie "The Good, the Ugly and the Bad." Thus it was announced that next year's edition of Sonafilm will be dedicated to the Italian composer Ennio Morricone.
