Last Saturday night the symbolic celebration of the XXV edition of Jávea Living Chess took place. A day that was commemorated with a spectacular concert, by the hand of the Symphonic Orchestra of the Musical Artistic Center of Jávea, in memory of the 25 editions lived.
As narrated from the Loreto Festival Commission, a collaborating part of this event, the act focused on the story that a pawn from the 2019 edition ('A family of musicians, four monsters and a putxero') wanted to celebrate, with all the public, his 250 years. But, finding only a 2 and a 5, he decided to celebrate 25 years of the Festival of National Tourist Interest that corresponds to Living Chess. Also, animated by a pawn of the year 2009 ('Romeo and Juliet').
On the other hand, the edition recalled the love legend of Amira and Al-Azraq and the fall of the latter when trying to conquer Alcoy. A small sample of the theatrical aspect that characterizes Living Chess.
The Symphonic Orchestra of the Musical Artistic Center of Jávea demonstrated its skill and made the public travel throughout this quarter of a century of pioneering popular initiative in Xàbia, with a repertoire that combined dramatic works with other more rhythmic works known to almost everyone.
Laura Bou and Javi Torrijos, actors in the last editions of Chess, led the show remembering people linked to their trajectory, editions, anecdotes, the beginnings of this unique adventure, the repercussion outside Jávea, the renowned guests who have participated and put in value the educational and social task that is carried out with the children and youth of the municipality.
In addition, the event included a small sample of pieces of clothing and props of artisan manufacture and made in Xàbia. Many of the attendees recognized, immediately, which edition they belonged to and who were the children and young people who wore them.
From the Virgin Mary of Loreto Festivities Commission, they are immensely grateful to all the neighbors who opted for the act and contributed, with their input, to being able to celebrate the 125th birthday of their parties after two difficult years.
