This weekend the Portitxol of Xàbia will celebrate its popular festivities. After these festivities were celebrated for decades and suffered a break, five years ago some residents of this area of the municipality took them back and turned them into a popular and participatory party.
These holidays are held every year on the second weekend of August. On Saturday afternoon the events start with a parade that aims to call the neighbors to the party and which is followed by a popular snack. About 20: 00 h. there is a musical performance that will run this year by "Toni el del Hostal". Next, the dolçainers colla and the Danses Portitxol group will perform a dansà de carrer.
Once the night comes, the participants of this party gather to celebrate a brotherhood dinner, an evening that will continue with the music of the "Colors" orchestra. On Sunday morning there will be an awakening with music in the Portitxol area, a sardine and traditional games for children.
