El Town hall de Xabia recalls that lighting bonfires on the beaches is something that is prohibited both by the General Directorate of Coasts and in the citizen coexistence ordinance, with penalties of up to 750 euros. That is why, on the night of June 23, special surveillance will be carried out to control this practice that affects both the safety and health of users and the integrity of the environment.
Likewise, responsibility is requested in the use of pyrotechnic material or elements such as flying lanterns in natural environments. From the City Council they invite all residents and tourists to join the traditional celebration tonight in Xàbia: the Nit dels Focs, a festival declared of Tourist Interest and that takes place in the Historic Center.
