May 23 from 2019 - 12: 35

The month of May of 2019 is a month of surprises, positive, for the followers of professional tennis. Pedro Martínez Portero, (26 / 04 / 1997) born in Alzira, returns to what was his home a while ago to start a new journey with Javier Ferrer, who once completed his time as a coach David Ferrer, take up this ambitious project.

With hardly any rest after the emotional farewells of David Ferrer as a professional tennis player, Javier Ferrer is already working with Martínez Portero with maximum intensity and commitment in the town of Xàbia. If something stands out this pair is in the ambition and self-demand that, without a doubt, are the key to obtain the maximum performance of the young tennis player.

Both share the same goal, breaking into the TOP 100 and for this the next few weeks have been planned in Challenger Tour tournaments and a strenuous schedule of technical and tactical training by Javier Ferrer and physical preparation supervised by Jaume Ros, former physical trainer by David Ferrer.

The last two weeks have been of great benefit to Pedro, reaching SF of the Challenger in Lisbon where he lost to Roberto Carballes (86 ATP) and is currently qualified for the third qualifying round of Roland Garros, where he will face the winner of Adam Pavlasek (248 ATP) and Geoffrey Blancaneaux (242 ATP) to fight for a place in the main draw of the Parisian Grand Slam.

Currently, Pedro Martínez is in the 134 position of the ATP ranking and his hunger for titles does not go unnoticed among the players of the circuit, who consider Alzireño a tough opponent to beat with a great projection that only a year ago was in the position 257 of the ATP.
