The short film festival Riurau Film Festival will host this 2019 its eighth edition, a sample of its growth year after year, which is presented with new features. And it is that the projection scenarios are extended with the incorporation of La Xara. The Plaça del Cinema will be the place that hosts the Valencian short films of this edition. Now, the Riurau Film Festival has Dénia, Xàbia, Jesús Pobre and La Xara as the venues of the festival. In addition, La Xara will be the town where the inauguration of the event will start, scheduled for the August 23.
This year, the prize for the best short film in Valencian will amount to 600 euros, in addition to a trophy and a diploma, as explained by the mayor of EATIM; Maite Pérez Conejero.
Ramón Cardona, director of the festival, has manifested his "Great illusion to make the region" and expand the possibilities of the festival. As a novelty this year, as explained by the person in charge of communication Isabel Bilbao, people will be brought in to the different sections of the festival so that, before each screening, they will give a short talk on the theme to be screened.
The screening schedule will continue at the 30 in August at the Gran Riurau de Jesús Pobre; the 6 and 7 days of September in the Torrecremada park of Dénia; and the festival will end on 13 and 14 days of September at the Riurau d'Arnauda de Xàbia. The deadline for submitting the pieces, with a maximum duration of 20 minutes, will remain open until May 25.
