The sailor Arthur Baker of the Club Náutico Jávea, champion of the Spanish Cup of Optimist sub13

Last weekend, Arthur Baker of the Club Náutico Jávea, was proclaimed champion of the U13 Optimist Spanish Cup, making clear the high level of the xabiencs sailors. The Club's Optimist fleet reaped excellent results, also highlighting the classification of Mateo Carbonell to compete in the European championship.

The event, which took place at the Club Náutic de Ciutadella (Menorca), was attended by Mateo Carbonell, Arthur Baker, Carlota Gómez, Liam Woods, Raul Martínez and the sisters Begoña and Elena Pérez-Manglano, together with the fleet coach, Julian Viciano.

With six days of regattas, Mateo Carbonell was the best classified of the Jávea Yacht Club, 14th overall, a position that allowed him to get a pass to play the Optimist European Championship in Greece. Carbonell managed to get into the top 5 in one of the sleeves, and in another one into the top ten of the gold group.

Following the absolute general classification, Arthur Baker was 17th and managed to hang the champion's medal in the sub13 category, in one of the sleeves Baker was the best.

In addition, Carlota Gómez was 22nd overall, Liam Woods 26th and Raúl Martínez 52nd, while the sisters Begoña and Elena Pérez-Manglano were 94th and 102nd overall respectively.

Spanish Cup in Salou

For its part, the fleet of boards went to Salou to play the Bic Techno and 293 Spanish Cup, an appointment in which the Club Náutico Jávea was represented by Pablo Momparler, Noor Saidi and Jorge Momparler.

Pablo Momparler 10 overall in Bic Techno sub15, with 4 sets in the top ten, Noor Saidi 13 overall in Bic Techno sub17 and two sets in the top ten and finally Jorge Momparler 16 overall in Open Foil sub17.
