The socialist councilor of Xàbia, Isabel Bolufer has put an end to her political career. Bolufer that began in 1983 and went through two more legislatures, in 2015 and 2019, has been honored by the local PSPV group of Xàbia in an event attended by more than 70 people among militants, family members and representatives of the party at the regional level. Together with Isabel Bolufer, they were the current Mayor of Xàbia, José Chulvi, the ex-mayor with whom he began his political adventure, Enrique Bas and the Secretary of Organization of the PSPV, José Muñoz.
During the brotherhood dinner, the trajectory of a woman who has witnessed the last 40 years of xabiera politics was reviewed. Isabel has also been responsible, in this last legislature, for such important milestones as, for example, the drafting of the General Plan that protects around 9 million square meters.
The first xabiero mayor, José Chulvi, valued the fact that "Isabel was the first woman to take up public office in our town and in this way opened an essential path in favor of equal opportunities." In addition, Chulvi highlighted “Isabel's dedication, with a lot of work and a lot of sense to improve the living conditions of our neighbors; this is the most important thing a public servant can say at the end of his career. And that of our partner has been impeccable. For this reason, although today he leaves the first line of management, his example and his inspiration will not stop accompanying us ”.
For his part, Enrique Bas recalled the exciting beginnings of the 1983 legislature and valued the task "of a young councilor with enthusiasm, with personality, and who spoke little but when she did it was to make important contributions."
The act ended with a brief speech of gratitude from Isabel to the two mayors with whom she has worked, as well as to her colleagues in the corporation and to the members of the socialist group. On the other hand, he expressed his intention to “continue very close to this party, which is mine, the one that represents the values of justice, equality, feminism, environmentalism and progress in which I believe and that have guided my political action during all these years. ”.
In addition, the group made a video tribute with statements from several councilors of the last legislatures, as well as from historical activists of the PSPV of Xàbia. Everyone agreed that he has been a person with a friendly profile, but that even so "he has been an essential piece in the Xàbia project that I estimate."
To finish, Chulvi gave Bolufer, in a symbolic way, a rose accompanied by the poem by Vicent Andrés Estellés, Paper rose.
