The Council of Amjasa has rejected the PSOE's offer to support the new statutes that will allow the company to carry out urban development promotion. The socialist proposal, defended by its councillor Javier Bonet, offered "a consensual and beneficial solution for the municipality, which the mayor, Rosa Cardona, did not want to accept."
This consisted of withdrawing from public auction the plots that are now to be offered to private companies to build protected housing on a purchase basis (something that the local government still has time to do). As the Socialist Municipal Group argued in the last plenary session, "this initiative protects the developers, but not the residents, since the houses (of which it is not known how many there will be or what their characteristics will be) will be priced at 2.400 euros/m2, which for a 100m2 house means a price of 240.000 euros, not including taxes and other expenses. Overall, an unaffordable operation for young people who want to leave home or for families with low incomes."
The proposal defended by Bonet offered that it be the own Town Hall through Amjasa, which would carry out the work and offer the houses under a protected social rental regime. "But the government team has said no and has preferred to go ahead with a plan that defends the interests of companies rather than those of the residents," say the socialists.
Javier Bonet also recalled something that was already stressed in the plenary session: "these plots have a value, according to technical criteria, of around 1 million euros and they are going to be put out to tender for 4 euros. It is a ruinous business for our town and very good for whoever takes it. In addition, the formula chosen by Rosa Cardona's government leaves us without several million euros of European funds that we could obtain under the rental formula."
In order to get the proposal through, the socialist group was willing to put aside its just demand for a distribution of Amajasa councillors that respected the composition of the municipal council and the will of the voters, but even so it was not possible to reach an agreement. That is why the socialist councillor, Javier Bonet, voted against.
The PSOE is now a defender of public housing after doing NOTHING in 11 years of government. Incredible but true. Amjasa can now do it. Amjasa was governing with a large majority, and did nothing to modify the company's corporate purpose to provide other municipal services.
In fact, year after year, in the memory that Henarejos invented, they included that of the integral water cycle and the water year after year, dumped into the sea after being purified.
And to talk about protected housing now, when in the last legislature more licenses have been given than ever. And several of them to blocks of free-rent promotions. A real mess.
Arguments…???Açi no hi ha arguments, sols que el tripartit hi ha a venut el ví abans d'collir el raïm….i…will continue…promoters rub their hands at the expense of the people…What a shame.
Of course, this is a statement, or an opinion, of what the gentleman from the PSOE says. And we remain unaware of the other arguments.
