At the event, the spokesperson for the Municipal Group and Secretary General of the PSOE of Xàbia, the Deputy José Chulvi, expressed his "satisfaction at being able to meet again this year and to be able to see that the health of our group is better than ever; also to see that the most veteran members and the councillors with more experience are joined by new people, especially young people, who are looking to the PSOE of Xàbia for a space to make useful and progressive politics in favour of their town."

During the event, the socialist spokesman presented a balance of the year's activity, including, among other issues, the dozens of proposals and motions presented in the Town Hall from Xàbia, which although "have been rejected in their majority by the mayor without even being able to debate them, we have achieved important things such as the moratorium on the granting of licenses for tourist apartments, the celebration of the Antoni Llidó Year, which were our proposals, or the fact that the City Council has joined the campaign in favor of the Valencian language and against the Rovira Law promoted by the Valencian government."

Both José Chulvi and the rest of the activists who spoke at the event claimed that the PSOE "won the 2023 elections with 9 councillors and as the leading political force in Xàbia will continue to oppose a government that has so far been unable to get a single project off the ground, not even those we left them already done, such as the municipal swimming pool. The only thing they have been in a hurry to do is grant new building permits as if we were back in the 90s."

The events in terms of regional politics were also analysed, especially the management of the DANA, which has demonstrated "the inability of President Mazón to lead the Generalitat, once it has been proven that he lied on the most tragic day in our recent history."

Finally, the PSOE of Xàbia wanted to send a message of optimism for the coming year. "We are more excited and active than ever. We have grown in number of members, we have a new force of young people and we continue to be the first political force in Xàbia both in number of votes and in number of councillors. Therefore, in this second part of the legislature we will continue to propose measures to improve the lives of our neighbours and we will continue to be rigorous in opposition."

    What a shame they are…

    Yes sir…and dreams…are dreams.
    A hundred attendees?
    Opposition with rigor?
    Did you achieve important things?
Accusing them - who gave them freely - of haste in granting licenses?
Complaining about failure to carry out projects in a year and a half? While they failed in many projects over 12 years?
No rigor, no shame. Enough already.
