The PSOE of Xàbia criticises the “paralysis in the municipality” and presents eight “urgent” proposals

27 September 2024 - 14: 23

«In the face of inaction, proposals. In the face of management paralysis, eight government actions to relaunch Xàbia». Under this premise, the Socialist Municipal Group presented, last night, in the ordinary plenary session, eight motions covering sectors such as tourism, the environment, social services, sport, childhood, culture and urban planning. According to the socialists, "its implementation could be immediate and would lead to a rapid improvement in management and the quality of life and services in Xàbia."

Socialist spokesman, José Chulvi, stated that "as a majority group we take on the task of being in opposition, also putting forward proposals and actions for improvement, which have no ideological burden, but are reasonable, easy to do and good for the majority."

Chulvi also stressed that, "although the municipal government changed 15 months ago, the main decisions that have been taken have been at the initiative of the PSOE, such as the moratorium on tourist rental licenses and the commemoration of the Antoni Llidó year."

For all these reasons, the PSOE councillors defended the following measures:

  • Remove pine trees affected by the tomicus disease from public forests to avoid the risk of fire, contagion between trees and accidents to people.
  • Pedestrianise Manuel Bordes Valls street to create an integrated sports area between the sports pavilion, the municipal swimming pool, the CEIP Port courts and the Les Mesquides fields.
  • Monitoring the smoke-free beaches agreement as well as a new ordinance regulating noise and light pollution on beaches and the prohibition of installing bulky objects such as tents and marquees.
  • Open the libraries of Xàbia on a continuous basis.
  • Regulate the rental of boats without a license or skipper and increase inspections at sea.
  • Demand that the Alicante Provincial Council invest the 300.000 euros in Social Services for Xàbia that it has now cut.
  • Launch a plan to combat childhood obesity in schools.
  • Approve the sports ethics code in Xàbia.

Chulvi insisted that these measures are aimed at improving the quality of life in Xàbia and that his group will continue to present useful, realistic and positive initiatives for the municipality. Despite this, the governing team, made up of a tripartite government, rejected all the motions without even debating some of them.

  1. Chulvi stay in Valencia, thank you says:

Voting no to the urgency of some measures that are responsible for the 12 years that the cadira is going to calfar is not saying no, it is refusing to let them come to govern from the other side of the room and accuse them of not fervent, since they have had more than a decade of blockage and inactivity.

It is not possible to voler nail pressa when you have seen passar per davant and have not fet res. It is time to assimilate this, and no, it is not governing.

  2. Quique says:

Nobody is referring to the proposals. Have you read them? Have you thought about them?

    • The enlightened one came out says:

Quique Chulvi, have you ever thought that in all the time the PSOE was in power, not a single project was produced without problems like the one with the auditorium, nor did they put out a fire in the landfill that polluted for months until it was published in the press? Now they have proposals and we believe them, of course, because in the opposition they have become great leaders.

But yes, you can read what they say and go crazy with their anti-fat plan by going to school to tell the children not to eat so much, that they will surely solve everything that way.

  3. Chulvito you are the best wherever you are says:

Why don't the dirty guys suggest giving the PP that kid who had like 20 council seats? He was a smart guy who could contribute a lot of weird posturing: nothing came out of any of his council seats and he didn't have Naranjito's charisma either, but there he was, smiling at Chungui's work.

  4. it's worth it says:

It's about time, damn it! Chulvi is taking action to fix things! He's going to propose a plan for the sewer system to go 12 years without maintenance, for 7 more works to be started and then blocked after two months, like the Thiviers park or the Triana bridge... for all this to be a work stopped due to incompetence. We have to start burning the landfill and for it to be lit for months like when he governed, and only when it was in the press was it possible to put it out, coincidentally. Or for the Montgó natural park to catch fire and then in two years the Granadella without anything being done.

Chulvi, we miss your work, thank goodness you bring initiatives! And it seemed like you only knew how to be a regular in a bar!

  5. indignant socialist says:

ha ha ha ha… Chulvi, please!!!
