El Javea Town Hall The project drafting for the indoor pool is put out to tender. The approval has been carried out in a government meeting. With this step, the City will take out the bidding documents of the basic project and execution of the municipal indoor pool, an infrastructure demanded by the public for years.
The contract is for a price of 118.235 euros and all the technical details will be published in the public sector contracting platform so that interested technicians can present their proposals during 15 days.
The sports infrastructure, which will be located on the adjoining plot adjacent to the sports pavilion, between the streets M.Bordes Valls, Joan Fuster and VA Estellés, will be paid for by the Generalitat, which has already reserved 1,5 million euros for the first annual installment of the play. Remember that this project was unlocked, a year ago, when the current regional government recognized the historical debt that its predecessors left pending with Xàbia and finally opened an economic budget for the work.
Mayor, José Chulvi, remember that the City Council and the Generalitat agreed that it was the Consistory that would commission the design of the pool (which is what is being hired now) while the construction will be entirely financed by the regional government.
Chulvi has been excited to take such a decisive step to demonstrate the will of his government in that the indoor pool goes from being a collective illusion to a reality.
Project criteria
Paired with the contracting record of the project, the City Council attaches all the documentation related to the site where the pool will be built, the program of needs that has been worked on by the Sports department and the design criteria based on modernity, sustainability, versatility, functionality, easy to maintain and accessible.
The complex is set up with two pool glasses and an activity room aimed at gymnastics and physical maintenance. The main pool (of 25 meters long by 16'7 of width) will be of polyvalent character and the secondary one (of 16'70 by 10 meters) dedicated to the teaching complementary activities or of familiarization to the swimming, as much for children as for adults, and especially for rehabilitation swimming.
From the initial project (which was estimated at 6 million euros) the underground parking was eliminated (it was only for 20 cars) and many unnecessary areas and spaces that raised the cost of construction and maintenance. Also, to reduce maintenance costs, connectivity with the Palau d'Esports and energy efficiency measures are being studied. Now the project is estimated that could go ahead with 3 million euros.
