'El Projecte Xàbia', a benchmark for sustainable tourism in the Valencian Community

27 September 2021 - 14: 57

The Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències seeks to become a benchmark of the Valencian Community in sustainable tourism through scientific dissemination content in the environmental and social fields and the development of actions in this line such as 'El Projecte Xàbia', an initiative developed jointly with the Oceanogràfic Foundation.

The Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències highlights this project on the occasion of World Tourism Day, which is celebrated this Monday and in which there will be a special lighting with the colors of La Senyera. The lighting will be from 20 pm at the Museu de les Ciències, the Hemisfèric, the Palau de les Arts and the Oceanogràfic.

'El Projecte Xàbia', which began in 2017, values the marine biodiversity of the coast of the Alicante population and its integration with the economic, social and cultural reality of the municipality. Based on the knowledge generated by two scientific campaigns, the state of conservation of biodiversity and its interaction with the socio-economic activity of the area were evaluated, transferring the information generated to all the actors involved.

Marine outreach routes and school involvement projects such as the 'Message in a bottle', murals with awareness messages in emblematic places in collaboration with 'Paradores' and participatory workshops with the different socioeconomic sectors are some of the actions that have been developed with notable success and whose objective has been to lay the foundations for the sustainable development of the municipality, with special emphasis on the reference to tourist activity.

It has also been presented in different scenarios to promote good environmental practices and protect the posidonia meadow on the Jávea coast. After this previous experience, the 'Oceanogràfic Foundation' continues to promote sustainable tourism this time in Cullera, with the involvement of the administrations and social agents.

This is already a joke in very bad taste.

¿¿El Projecte Xàbia ', a benchmark of sustainable tourism in the Valencian Community ????

What some do to save their asses, balls out, not accepting the REALITY ... I imagine that it must be a Venezuelan producer, they are experts in the BIG LIE, anything goes to continue collecting salaries for the face !!!!

Jávea has gone to hell, it is dirty, super exploited, overcrowded, without services ...

Who is going to swallow that Documentary ball? ... Well, "someone" of the same string, who will also give them a prize, whatever they can think of, everything super "social and modern", with a photo of a jacket and brown shoes.

They should be given a double prize, one to the most incapable and another to the most liars.

  2. Pedro says:

Mother of God. If the Xabia Project is the sustainable model to follow, may the Santita Milagrosa protect us. What else can you say ...

  3. Ignacio says:

But how can you be so hypocritical? They could have made a documentary about the tourist overcrowding and its ravages in the environment this summer. Sustainable tourism? Where is that? In crowded coves, in generated garbage thrown everywhere, at illegal parties, in Campers parked anywhere outside the coves? Panda of hypocrites, now do and present this empty Documentary, which surely has been paid for with public money, it will have meant a good injection of money into their pockets but it will not be used for anything else.

  4. Juan says:

Is the summer we've had really sustainable?

  5. jibario says:

It seems to me that doing electoral propaganda is not right.
    You will see.
