The PP assures in Xàbia that it will modify the Law of Coasts that so much affects our coast

09 July 2023 - 13: 58

The president of the PPCV, Carlos Mazón, has affirmed today, Sunday, in Xàbia, that the PP "will modify the Law of Coasts that has done so much damage to the Valencian Community as soon as it reaches the Government of Spain." This has been communicated in the meeting that he has had with the mayoress, Rosa Cardona, and residents of the town affected by the Coastal Law.

Together with Mazón, the MEP José Manuel García-Margallo, the head of the list to the Congress for the province of Alicante, Macarena Montesinos, the president of the PP of the province of Alicante, Toni Pérez, and the spokesman for the Environment of the GPP in Congress, César Sánchez.

“This Coastal Law is regressive, it goes against the environment and against private property, all at the same time. And from the PPCV we defend that the sustainability of the coast and the beaches, of private property and of the tourism model is compatible”, stated Mazón.

Likewise, the president of the PPCV has affirmed that it is a rule "that is ideological and is doing a lot of damage to the Community." "That is why we are going to protect our beaches, to recover them, and we will make it compatible with growth and the tourism model that will continue to welcome everyone," he added.

Carlos Mazón has pointed out that the Sánchez government “has not been able to offer any solution either to the protection and conservation of the coast or to homeowners, whom it has never wanted to listen to. What's more, with the modification of the deadlines for the calculation of concessions, it has created legal uncertainty for residents who have houses and are even prohibited from carrying out works in their houses”.

The president of the PPCV recalled that Alberto Núñez Feijóo's program for 23-J includes the modification of the coastal legislation "and it will be done in collaboration with the CCAA, quite the opposite of what Sánchez has done", and that the The Government program for the Generalitat also speaks of a "real protection of the coast in collaboration with the affected municipalities and the Government administration".

Xàbia's priority: regenerate the beaches

For her part, the mayoress of Xàbia, Rosa Cardona, has thanked the visit of the next President of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, and has shown her concern about the effects of the Coastal Law in the municipality and with the regression that is produced by the effects of climate change, while calling for the regeneration of Xàbia beaches.

Cardona has indicated that the main thing is to protect the coastline environmentally "so as not to lose our engine."
economic. "We do not have an industrial estate: therefore this is our livelihood that must be cared for and maintained."

The mayor reported that the Grava beach is losing its size and retreating further every day, «it will become the same as the Spanish Navy if we do not act. Meanwhile, the coastal regulations favor this loss of the coastline and do not allow us to conserve, maintain or care for what we have today in decline, therefore, the priorities are: restore the flow of sediments, regenerate and maintain the coastline of Xàbia in a natural or artificial way, with the contributions that are not reaching the sea so that they fulfill their function of protecting the coast.

On the other hand, the first mayor of Xàbia stated that the approval of the new modification of the Coastal regulation must be stopped, especially with respect to the new criteria that will be implemented for the delimitation of public domain, and that must be eliminated:

  • The delimitation of the public domain is fixed in space as far as the sea wave has reached only once.
  • The possibility of reviewing boundaries towards the sea if the waves have not reached an area in 50 years.
  • The references to the works of conservation, repair or improvement of the works that remain within the DMPT.
  • The promenades will no longer be a fixed boundary of the sea shore.
  • The constructions will be left out of management and must request a concession for a maximum period of 75 years and becoming public property of the state.
  • No concessions or extensions will be granted to works that may have a certain risk of being reached by the sea.
  • Require the Ministry of Ecological Transition to comply with its powers of Coasts and Marine Environment to carry out the execution of regeneration and maintenance projects on the Xàbia coast.
  • The administrative concession as a means of compensation for being affected by easements and public domain and that is financial compensation.

    Molt talk and little fer…
List of costs for those of interest to us, what about the Minister's house, and all the houses of Segon Montanyar? I do not say all the xalets on the penya-segat of the entire coast. But if I do not find out about the super xalet that has been at the end of the Cala del Francés….Just focus on the most humble people, either all or none… how many diners will you fly?

Rosa Cardona, remember your promise about Javea Park!!

They have not taken long to remove the mask. I am already seeing cranes on the island of Portichol. And if they are so concerned about the coast and the neighbors as they say, why did the government of Mariano Rajoy renew the concession to the chalet of the Francoist minister, which occupies land-maritime space at Punta del Arenal for 75 more years? Depriving citizens of a land that belongs to EVERYONE.

    • Save says:

All the cranes for high-end villas that are seen now, which are neither one nor two, who has given the license to the PP or the PSOE? Because at any point in Javea you can easily see 10 to 20 cranes

How right and not only that, the reform and departure to the pier to catch his yacht. I saw that this summer from the Outrageous hostel. They better worry about the emissary, the Arenal beach is getting dirtier every time, in fact dead fish have appeared and they have the shamelessness to say that it is because the water is warmer. I will no longer tell you about the smell of putrefaction that comes out when passing over the bridge over the fountain, one of the days in July a truck full of bite came out, after vacuuming the treatment plant. Stop building and publicizing and providing services. Do you think we are stupid….?

Everything changes when a "Luxury Urbanization" is projected on the first line of the Coast. So there are no problems or restrictions. Less wolves that, like all parties, will give licenses for anything, including a Golf Course by the sea.
