The Poble Nou de Benitatxell proposes to live the MitjaFava Fest from home

The health crisis caused by COVID-19 has not been able to with one of the most emblematic annual events of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell. If people can't go to the party, let the party go home. And so it has been done. From April 13 to 19, the departments of Agriculture and Economic Promotion and Culture have devised a complete program to enjoy the MitjaFava Fest from home, with culinary challenges, contests, balcony decorations, documentary screenings or virtual meetings that will have to be shared on social media tagging the Facebook of the town hall and using the hashtag #socmitjafava.

The festival will start next July 13 with the Fava Gastronomic Week, with which neighbors are invited to prepare their favorite dishes with broad beans and share photos or videos on the networks. Likewise, the children's drawing contest will also be active throughout the week 'Benitatxell paints the fava', aimed at boys and girls between 3 and 12 years old. The drawings must be related to the bean bean and must be sent to comunicacio@elpoblenoudebenitatxell.org indicating the name and date of birth. There will be prizes for the three finalist drawings.

El Friday April 17 It will start a weekend full of activities. At 18:00 will be the official decoration of balconies, terraces and facades, whose photos will have to be posted on social networks. There will be a prize for the three best proposals. Later, at 20:30 p.m., the documentary will be shown live on the Facebook of the city councilSow, plant and estimate the fava poblera ', by Paco Soto and Empar Ferrer.

El Saturday 18 It will be the most complete day with four different proposals. At 11:00 hours the 'engrunament' of beans will take place. The initiative aims to incite citizens to record themselves demonstrating their skills by pronouncing the motto 'Mitjafava pride!'. At 12:00 hours it will be the time of 'Telematic vermouth', which invites you to share the vermouth or any variant with friends through a video call.

In the afternoon, from 18:00 p.m., the 'Tardeo pobler', where you have to prepare a tapa to enjoy it with a beer, wine or soft drink. And to end the day, he plans to go out on the balconies and dedicate the applause to the farmers.

To end the week, the Sunday April 19 the program proposes to go out on the balconies at 12:00 and sing the hymn 'Soc mitjafava', by Toni Català. And at lunchtime, at 14:00 p.m., guests are invited to cook a paella with bean bean and share it with everyone.
