The Poble Nou of Benitatxell invests in the pool to improve water health and efficiency

02 March 2020 - 00: 30

The Plenary of Town hall of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell held, this past week, the ordinary session of the month of February. Among other issues, two points related to childhood were unanimously approved: the official recognition of the Municipal Council for Children and Adolescents, the representative body for children in the municipality, and the initiation of procedures to request Unicef recognition as 'Child Friendly City'.

And on the other hand, the most prominent issue was the improvements in the Local pool. To questions of the opposition about the last investment of 14.688 euros, the mayor, Miguel Ángel García, explained the actions that have been carried out.

A new company, which carries, among others, the pools of La Nucía, the largest in the province of Alicante and the largest in the Region and Benissa, has taken over the management of the pool. This company has made several small repairs to improve the operation of the boiler and air, which will make the consumption less. A system to control the pH and chlorine parameters has also been implemented. This method, which previously worked like that of the old pools, propelling the chlorine without first recognizing the levels that exist, has been automated so that now only the chlorine that is needed is discharged.

“We understand that it is money that needs to be spent, in the first place, to improve the quality of water and the health of users, because until now no control of chlorine and chemicals has ever been done. And we are sure that these improvements will be translated into greater efficiency. The savings in terms of gas and electricity consumption will be seen with the first annuity ”, said the mayor.

Performances in Cala del Moraig

After the plenary session, and given the confusing information that the opposition has disseminated, the mayor wanted to make some clarifications about the state of Moraig Creek after the passage of the temporary 'Gloria' and future actions. Garcia explained that in the last month he has been in permanent contact with Rosa de los Ríos, head of the Coastal Provincial Service, the body responsible for this coastal section, to study the best option for the beach. In addition, he advanced that next week they will receive the visit of the Costas technicians to analyze the damages on-site.

“We are working hand in hand with Costas to find the best solution. A solution that, apart from returning all its splendor to our beach, guarantees greater sustainability and the protection of this valuable enclave. Because if we want users to continue enjoying Moraig, it is necessary to preserve its greatest charm: the natural wealth that surrounds the cove ”He said.
