"We are concerned about the attitude of the opposition to refusing to hold the ordinary plenary session electronically as many other municipalities are already doing. In these complex times, the health and protection of everyone is the most important thing ”, has affirmed the first mayor.
Despite this setback, the meeting has continued to approve the points of the day, among which the validation of the credit modification with which it has been possible to provide a budget to Servicios Sociales and other departments to fight against this crisis, a motion to urge the Government to eliminate the spending rule and a motion in defense of the public and universal healthcare system.
Garcíz explained that "Thanks to the possibility of using 20% of the surplus of 2019 (about 110.000 euros), the essential services to face the crisis are guaranteed: 10.000 euros for EPIs, 25.000 euros for cleaning and disinfection, 45.000 euros in aid for the social emergencies and the most vulnerable groups and 30.000 euros to the Home Help Service.In addition to the subsidies from the Provincial Government and the Generalitat, and the initial budget of Social Services, there are a total of more than 305.000 euros destined to curb the impact of the health, social and economic crisis ".
