Japanese pianist Rintaro Akamatsu kicks off the Vila de Xàbia International Piano Competition

Today, 28 in June, starts a new edition of the International Piano Competition Vila de Xàbia, that until the next 1 in July becomes a platform for young interpreters from 0 to 24 years. This year a total of 52 pianists from all over the world will participate.

This year's edition has counted to kick off with the performance of the prestigious Japanese pianist Rintaro Akamatsu, Casio's official pianist, who performed on Wednesday night in the Church of San Bartolomé, before a large audience.

It should be noted that the 50% of the collection of the concert, organized by WPTASpain (World Piano Teacher Association Spain), will be donated to the Church to allocate it to the projects that they consider most necessary.

The mastery of Akamatsu that captivated the audience will also reach the participants of the contest, with an exclusive masterclass for all of them.

In addition, this Thursday will be exhibited, in front of the town hall, several models of Casio piano as part of the promotion of the International Piano Competition, whose contestants will perform at the Portal del Clot as a representation of a new generation of musicians.
