As planned, last Friday, July 1, the new Xàbia Fire Brigade came into operation. The local mayor, José Chulvi, accompanied by the Chief Intendant of the Local Police, José Antonio Monfort, visited the facilities and welcomed the troops who will ensure the safety of the municipality. The new temporary checkpoint will serve until September 30.
From the consistory they thank the Diputación de Alicante for having attended to the local demand to reinforce and speed up the response capacity in an emergency. And it is that, as already indicated in previous situations, in the event of a fire, rapid intervention is crucial to avoid great damage and the distance between the regional fire station with some Xàbia areas supposes a great delay in the prompt intervention.
