The CAM musician from Xàbia Bartolomé Catalá wins the 2023 Euterpe Prize for his dedication

The Xàbia Artistic Musical Center is in luck again. Its veteran musician, Bartolomé Catalá Salines, has won the 2023 Euterpe Prize awarded by the Federation of Musical Societies of the Valencian Community. Catalá has spent a lifetime dedicated to music, specifically 65 years, and from there, he was recognized with the Euterpe-Ángel Asunción Award for Dedication by the Musical Society.

This appointment was carried out in the Teulada Moraira Auditorium this past Saturday, November 4, during the General Assembly that brings together all the groups that make up the Federation of Musical Societies of the Valencian Community.

On the other hand, on Sunday, in the Auditorium of the Palau d'Arts Reina Sofía in València, the sixth edition of the CaixaBank Comxicotetion for Orchestras of the Valencian Community organized by the Federation of Musical Societies of the Community in collaboration with the aforementioned banking entity and the Generalitat.

A total of five orchestras participated in it, chosen from all the musical societies of the Valencian Community and among the comxicotetors was the Center Artístic Musical de Xàbia. The Xabiera orchestra demonstrated the high level it has and this was demonstrated by all its members in the interpretation of the planned repertoire. The flute concerto number 1 in G, May K313 by Mozart in which Carme Català performed as solo flute and Symphony number 26 in D Minor, Lamentatione, by Haydn, under the baton of Joan Bou.

Its director, Joan Antoni Bou Vayà, also competed in the Salvador Giner category, although he ultimately failed to win the prize.

The xabiera expedition that traveled to the auditorium of the capital of Turia was led by the mayor, Rosa Cardona, Councilor for Culture, Mavi Pérez, along with the president of the CAM of Xàbia, Juan Antonio Sapena, and the xabiero and former president of the Band, Manolo Berenguer and numerous family members and friends of the musicians.

Second place for the Xàbia Orchestra

Finally, the CAM Orchestra of Xàbia came in second position, due to the great level demonstrated by the Symphony Orchestra of the Unió Musical Instructional Society of Tavernes de la Valldigna, but with the pride of having participated in this comxicotetion and knowing that all the musicians They are on the path of excellence in music. And the enormous pleasure of being able to perform a concert at the Palau de les Arts in Valencia, which could be described as the best auditorium in the entire Valencian territory.
