Next weekend, Xàbia welcomes March with the celebration of the Mig Any of the Moros i Cristians festivities. A day of brotherhood between the ranks that heats up the engines for the festival in honor of Sant Jaume in July, which will serve to close an intense festive cycle marked by the pandemic and inaugurate a new one with the proclamation of the Flag Bearers 2023 and the presentation of the Captaincy.
Unlike as usual, the Mig Any will last for two days. Music will be a prominent component in this year's celebration. Thus, on Friday, March 3, at sunset, at 20:00 p.m., the Moorish and Christian troops will burst into the streets of Aduanas del Mar, celebrating an informal entree that will go through traditional streets of the maritime nucleus. An act that was carried out years ago and that is now being recovered.
On Saturday 4, the day will be full of events that will start with a brotherhood lunch. Starting at noon (12:30 p.m.), music will once again invade Customs with the daytime entraeta that, this year, opens a longer tour. The starting point will be, how could it be otherwise, the Pius X arcade. Then, the lines will continue along Cristo del Mar and Sertorio streets and Jaime I avenue to Paseo Joaquín Sorolla.
At the end, attention will move to the interior of the Carrasco salons to celebrate the gala meal and the most outstanding act of Mig Any. The great festive family will put the finishing touch to the representation of Lucía Llidó and Carla Llidó as Flag Bearers 2020-2022 and to the Captaincy of the Filà Ballesters represented in its Captains Florencio Mata and Rosa Catalá. In turn, it will start a new festive edition with the proclamation of Indira Rosa Cardona and Natalia Moya as Mora and Christian Flag Bearers 2023 and will officially present this year's Captaincy.
