A few months ago, the IROX (Institution of Oceanographic Research of Xàbia) contacted the GOB, one of the oldest organizations in the Balearic Islands dedicated to the defense and protection of the natural environment, to advise on how to protect the marine environment and in particular the posidonia.
From the IROX, they contacted Xisco Sobrado, a GEN-GOB marine area technician, and he will be the one in Xàbia next Thursday, February 6, what were the actions, the results and the conclusions they are having in the Balearic Islands to be able to find efficient actions by our coast.
The conference will be in the Sala del Soler Blasco Museum (and not in the Library as advertised), located on Calle Mayor, at 19:30 p.m. It will deal with the experience they are having in the Balearic Islands on the management of moorings and the protection of posidonia.
Also, from the Xàbia Oceanographic Research Institute they are trying to hold a meeting with the affected municipalities of La Marina Alta and the Department to discuss the issue.
