In recent days, the Department of Health of Dénia, has registered a considerable increase in infections. During the month of July there were a total of five confirmed cases and this same figure has accumulated in a single day this week, with 8 positive cases in the Marina Alta in 15 days.
The cases are isolated and are registered in different populations of the region, being Dénia and Calp, the two municipalities that have accumulated the greatest number of cases, specifically three each.
Currently, according to data provided by the Ministry of Health, the Marina Alta accumulates 206 infections since the pandemic began, of which, there is only one person hospitalized in the Hospital de Dénia, as this editorial has learned. This contagion is found in the ICU, since it had to be transferred due to problems derived from COVID-19.
Despite this latest growth, the Dénia Health Department is one of those with the lowest incidence in the Community and from the Hospital they assure that, despite everything pointing to an increase in the number of infections, they feel prepared.
