The Hospital of Dénia seeks to humanize the ICU by extending the visiting hours of family members

January 15 from 2019 - 08: 39

The Dénia Hospital has taken a step further in the humanization of its spaces, following the goal they have pursued since its inception, with new measures to be applied in the Intensive Care Unit.

In particular, the measures focus on extending visiting hours - introducing the concept of "open doors" in certain special circumstances -, publishing a new informative guide for families, easing restrictions on access to the unit, new information and communication processes with patients and family members, facilitating the use of elements of personal entertainment or the improvement of structural aspects in search of a more humanized environment.

From the Hospital they remind that critical patients require high levels of technology and continuous and intensive care. According to the Supervisor of the Critical Unit of the Dénia Hospital, Vicent Salvà, "On many occasions all these advances make a more humane relationship between patients, their families and professionals difficult". The aim is to correct the imbalance between scientific-technical progress and attention to the emotional needs of patients, family and professionals.

With the implementation of these new measures, the aim is to adapt the service to the parameters of quality and humanization for which Marina Salud has been betting since its inception, through programs such as cuidArt, the Dénia Hospital Project that seeks to humanize health spaces and provide quality hospital stays through art in its various manifestations.
