The 'Granadella Trail' has been awarded in the Emprén Esport Awards 2021

The seventh edition of Emprén Esport has already delivered its awards. In this case, 14 awards, not 10, as was customary in recent years. The Trinidad Alfonso Foundation, an entity chaired by businessman Juan Roig and promoter of the initiative, has granted more aid than ever in 2021, with the aim of alleviating the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 285 sports projects were presented to the call and of all of them, the sports event, granadella Trail Costa Blanca, organized by the Club Atletisme Llebeig Xàbia, has won the second prize.

An award, more than deserved, for the effort made by the Club to resume this emblematic career. Rolf Jong, as representative of the CA Llebeig and organizer of the event, was the one who collected the award yesterday, at the headquarters of the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation. The prize for the Granadella Trail has been 15.000 euros. And, the amount allocated to the 14 winning projects of Emprén Esport 2021 has been 280.000 euros. Each of the seven first prizes has received 25.000 euros, while each of the seven second prizes receives 15.000 euros, compared to 12.000 in previous years.

Now, it only remains to wait for the health crisis to subside, and recognized projects or events can develop.

We recall that the Granadella Trail was scheduled for this coming Sunday, February 7, but given the COVID-19 situation it has been postponed to May 9.

The director of the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation, Elena Tejedor, for her part, valued the courage of the entrepreneurs who start projects in this more complicated than normal context and added her desire that all events can be held, "However, as stated in the bases of this call, if the health crisis prevents you from celebrating it in 2021, the Foundation's support would be respected until 2022".
