The piper Carlos Nuñez heads the poster of the XX Xàbia Folk Festival

04 March 2022 - 13: 57

Carlos Nuñez and his bagpipes will be protagonists in the 20th anniversary of the Xàbia Folk Festival. The well-known Galician piper will perform in the town of Xabiera on May 13 to mark the start of this consolidated festival. The performance, with free admission, will take place in the Plaza de la Constitución at 22:30 p.m. and will feature a special concert.

And it is that, in addition to the great Carlos Núñez, the group from Alcoy, The Xafigà, will participate with him in this special anniversary edition.

But the Xàbia Folk resumes this XX edition with the usual schedule and stages such as the night concerts and the closing special in the Ermita de Santa Lucía in the morning.

Present at the presentation of the poster were the Councilor for Culture, Quico Moragues, Mayor, José Chulvi, and the musicians who support the artistic direction of the festival: Toni Torregrosa and Joan Buigues, from the Romàntica del Saladar.

Torregrosa and Buigues have indicated that the Xàbia Folk 2022 will feature 'Eixa', a project by the Valencian performer and composer Isabel Latorre at the official presentation ceremony that will be on Friday, April 22, at 20:XNUMX p.m., at the Casa de la Culture.

The program will continue, after the Núñez concert, with another large-format show led by Gani Mirzo, a musician with Kurdish roots, whose oriental melodies merge with flamenco and jazz through
instruments such as the lute, the buzuk and the Spanish guitar. His project 'The Route of Dignity' is committed to refugees fleeing the war (an important part of his cache goes to the Duhok refugee camp), a sadly topical situation now also in Europe.

The festival will close as usual with an intimate performance at the hermitage of Santa Llúcia, this year starring Carol Duran and Nuria Lozano, two fundamental artists in the creation and composition of Catalan music. As usual, all concerts are free.

The Councilor for Culture has invited everyone to enjoy folk, a festival with a loyal audience, to which the Town hall He has great appreciation for it and for which year after year music from all parts of the country and many of the most recognized groups on the folk scene have passed.

For his part, the mayor thanked Toni Torregrosa and La Romàntica del Saladar for their commitment to this meeting, which has become a benchmark in the Valencian Country.

It seems to me that the activity of the Department of Culture is quite diverse and positive. I think it should be valued.
Now, the Chulvi is the one who spends his time with his posados.
Look how you like it, Jose. She would say that she is quite obsessive, and she seems quite ridiculous.

    • Pink says:

The Department of Culture cannot be the only objective for the inns

This Town has serious deficiencies of all kinds, the Department of Culture cannot be placed, day after day, as the only activity of inns of the Mayor.

Those inns could be in streets that today do not have lighting, or huge sinkholes, or thousands of sites with piled-up rubbish, neglect and massive construction... something is very wrong, that's not how a town is managed, that ends badly, always.

      • Rachel Miro says:

        I think exactly the same.
It is embarrassing to see Jávea with a thousand serious problems and these people all day with Sorolla, Equality and Poseidonia.

  2. pozi says:

I'd say stop the bagpipes, but for one thing they know how to do: pose for some irrelevant event to try to distract people.

  3. Amazing says:

But seriously, it is impossible for you to start WORKING and fix Jávea??

    Now BAPPETS???

You don't have two fingers in front!
