The 'Ojos Rojos' Festival of Xàbia awarded by the Salom Sabar-Impulsa Cultura Foundation

The Salom Sabar Foundation, based in Dénia, contemplates among its aims to contribute to cultural development in the field of its social environment. With this objective he designs the Plan “Boosts Culture”, a strategy for the promotion of cultural and artistic creation through the call for grants to entrepreneurial projects linked to Dénia or the Marina Alta.

In the 2019 call, which corresponds to the second edition, of the 13 projects presented, the Foundation has awarded seven Impulsa Cultura awards, among which is the 'Red Eyes' Photography Festival that a few months ago was held in Xàbia for the first time and that will have continuity in 2020.

'Red eyes', a project promoted by the Urban Artery Association and promoted by Mili Sánchez and Mike Steel, hosted various high-level photographic exhibitions and training activities both in Xàbia and in municipalities of the Marina Alta.

The prize corresponds to the sponsorship of the Salom Sabar Foundation for its realization during the course of 2020 and in the case of Red eyes It will be its second edition.

Also the others winning projects are:

    “Paths to Equality” of the Teamorfosis Association, which proposes the creation of a documentary about the experiences and discrimination suffered by a group of illiterate women in Dénia between the decades of the 1940 to the 1990 and their personal and social transformation after learning to read and write in the 90 .

    “History of the Marina Alta”, another documentary project presented by the director and screenwriter Pau Soler and which proposes the creation of an audiovisual that includes the different historical stages that took place in the Marina Alta, from prehistory to the present.

    “La Flexió Verbal”, a festival of varieties that celebrates its XXV Edition in 2020 and offers an exhibition framework to local artists, professionals and amateurs, where they can show their creations in public squares in the town.

    "L'Esperança Coronada", a project by l'Ateneu de Dénia that enables the programming of renowned musicians nationally and internationally. In the XXIII edition they have already programmed in Dénia the pianist Alexander Kliuchko as well as the duo formed by Fernando Arias, cello and Noelia Rodiles, piano, as well as talks and documentary screenings.

    "La Marina Social Club", a new cultural space in Dénia with innovative activities that complement the cultural offer of the Marina Alta. His proposals include varied classes (dance, yoga, circus, etc.), in addition to training activities, film screenings, concerts and exhibitions.

    “Batucada Inclusiva MonBloc”, a project by Víctor Rodríguez which presents a continuation during this year and part of the 2020 to the percussion workshops held at 2019 at 8 Functional Diversity centers in Dénia and which will culminate in the creation of an inclusive batucada.
