The Benitatxell government team accompanies the Lions Club in the celebration of its 25 anniversary

Last Friday, the councilors of Servicios Sociales and Citizen Security, Isa Garrido and María José Ivars, attended, together with the mayoress of Teulada, Rosa Vila, and the president of the Teulada Day Residence, Sylvia Tatnell, at the gala to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Teulada-Moraira Lions Club, one of the most important solidarity groups in the region at an international level with a great link with El Poble Nou de Benitatxell.

The Teulada-Moraira delegation is part of the Lions Clubs International, (LCIF), the largest service organization in the world, with some 1,4 million members and 46.000 clubs operating in 210 countries around the world.

The association has been collaborating altruistically with the municipality for more than seven years, working closely with the Department of Social Services, always aware of the needs of the most vulnerable people. His fantastic bond with the Town hall it was finished last July with the appointment of the mayor, Miguel Ángel García, as an honorary member of the entity.

Among the achievements of this association, it is worth mentioning the collaboration in free textbooks, food vouchers for the most disadvantaged families, active participation in Christmas campaigns, Civil Protection grants and the Local Police of the last technology in patient resuscitation, key to saving lives.

The munícipe has highlighted his commendable work, both in the town and in the rest of the region, “It is an honor for us that people with such a great heart and capacity for help think of our municipality to help the most disadvantaged or those who need it most. We feel their achievements as ours, and that is why we are so happy that 25 celebrates years of success. ”

For its part, the mayor of Social Services, Isa Garrido, thanked the invitation to the act on Friday, “It was a fantastic evening and we loved sharing such a special day with them”. Also, Garrido wanted to reach out to the Lions Club, stating that from the City Hall and, especially from the Department of Social Services, "We are at your disposal in everything in our power to help you continue helping".
