'El Diario de Úrsula', the other side of the story of La Criminala

18 September 2019 - 01: 26

One of Xàbia's best known stories is that of the Criminala. A story that is about to celebrate its centenary and through the new novel by José Mulet, the story is made known from another point of view, from the outside.

It is known that, on June 28, 1920, Úrsula (La Criminala), killed her stepson. It was always mistakenly thought that the fateful events took place in the Vista Alegre house, located in the first Montañar, today missing.

The farm where José Mulet spent the summer was just behind that strange house that caused many fears, but he was passionate since he first saw it.

Since then, Mulet was always attracted to that house, not only for the one he always considered the crown of the Montañar, but also for revealing each and every one of the secrets that revolved around Úrsula, his rightful owner.

The author of the novel has managed to know, thanks to exceptional witnesses, exhaustive data of this extraordinary story, which as of now, with the novel, is far from a legend that is increasingly distant from reality.

José Mulet announces, under the title of The Ursula Diary all the details, even the most rugged, of what actually happened from a somewhat peculiar vision lived through the eyes of Felix (main character of this plot).

The novel, inspired by real events, was scheduled to come to light on 28 June 2020, coinciding with the centenary of what happened, but the author has decided to advance it and launch a special edition of the original manuscript that already borders the thousand sales, in just two months.

Mulet is pleasantly surprised and grateful to the positive reviews he receives every day, in which he comments that the story engages at all times.

Also, Mulet points out that, in the coming weeks, a new version will be released, slightly smaller than the first pages, although it will always be available to those who want it, the two versions, the original and the abbreviated.

As the author tells Xàbia.com, has already started his next novel, The Time Capsule, the one from
Small, inspired by the famous Julio Verne, he always wanted to write.

Another detail, matching the centenary of the events with the presentation of the book, José Mulet intends to bring all the characters and close friends to the story on such a special day.

José clarifies that "The peculiar way of recounting events is under the influence and enhancement of an excessively imaginative mind; crossing even the timeline, and with properly unpublished nuances, except for everything presently exceeds, that a large part of this story is true ".
