The fifth edition of the Valencian Community Olympic Week adapted sail shall be based on the facilities of the Club Náutico Jávea. The event organized by the Sailing Federation in collaboration with the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation is part of the Spanish pre-Olympic circuit promoted by the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation.
The comxicotetion was presented at the headquarters of the Foundation and has confirmed to 300 participants for 17 Olympic or pre-Olympic classes. In total, four venues have been designated, including Xàbia, which will join Valencia, Torrevieja and Alicante as a way to structure the territory through the sport of sailing. The comxicotetion will be played simultaneously in each of the 7 venues at the 10 in February.
The bay of Jávea will be filled with boats with the tests of the Hansa 303 and 2.4 mR classes, with a participation, to date, that rounds the 30 sailors among which is the xabiero, Rafa Andarias.
In the presentation, the president of Club Nautico de Javea, Arturo Miquel, thanked the support of the General Director of Sports of the Generalitat, Josep Miquel Moya to the event as well as in general to the Consell "that has been remembered by the Yacht Clubs and a clear sports vocation to promote the sport of sailing when they legislate with the recent modification of the Ports Law".
Miquel stressed the importance of the collaboration of the four clubs to make possible the V Valencian Community Olympic Week, since all "We love to organize regattas so that young people learn this sport and little by little reach the highest goals".
In a more local way, the president has underlined the "luck" that the Xàbia club has had for hosting the adapted sailing classes, since "We are the Rafa Andarias base club that has reached the highest goals in Europe", which, as he has added "It is a reason for satisfaction for the Club and for the entire municipality".
For the organization of the race in Xàbia, the Nautical Club has the collaboration of a large group of sponsors.
