The Xàbia Excursionist Center made the ascent to the top of Benicadell. In this way he managed to complete the Circuit 7 Cims that had been marked for this season.
A circuit designed so that the people of the club will know all the beautiful mountains that surround the region of the Marina Alta.
Participation in this circuit has been varying depending on the proposed top but on average has exceeded more than 40 participants per excursion. Figure highly valued by the members of the Centre.
Now, finished this circuit, until the end of the season the activities proposed by the Xàbia Excursionist Center are going to combine several high mountain courses and ravines with different camps and outings of the youngest people belonging to l'chool de montanya.
Ascent to the top of Benicadell
The hikers got up early as they took the bus to the 7: 30 hours to go to Beniatjar. The route was started by completing the first section.
Beniatjar - Les Fontetes
The expedition followed part of the PR-CV 213 and its variants to climb the shady Benicadell from Beniatjar. They crossed the town of Beniatjar through the street of maestro Santiago Ballester, following the track in the direction of Fontetes. After the first curve of the track they took the detour by path on the right. The route climbs through pine trees, crosses a track, and continues to the Les Fontetes area.
Les Fontetes - Benicadel
From Les Fontetes, they climbed the path to the House of Les Planisses. They followed the track towards Benicadell. After a kilometer of track they found the uphill path, on the left. The path winds through the shady side of the mountain until it reaches the path that runs along its cordal.
From the junction you can go to the top, on the left, or to the nevero well, on the right. The nevero well is at 10 minutes from the junction, on the right. The environment of the well is a pleasant place to rest for a while. The top is on the left, about 15-20 minutes from the junction.
The final part of the climb is made by the crest, a bit aerial, but wide enough so that there are no problems to reach the geodesic vertex. The summit is an excellent watchtower with views over the reservoir of Beniarrés and Montcabrer. On clear days you can see Ibiza on the left of the Montgó.
He came back
They went down the path to the track of the shady Benicadell. Instead of returning to the Planisses house, they followed the track westward. A kilometer from the crossroads of the trail they found a detour to the right that returns in an easterly direction towards Les Fontetes passing through the house of Penalma. From Les Fontetes, they returned to Beniatjar on the path they had already taken.
