As every year, when the month of November arrives, the Artistic Musical Center of Xàbia prepares to celebrate the acts in honor of Santa Cecilia.
The first of them took place this past Saturday with the collection of new musicians who join Xàbia's musical groups. As a novelty, this year, not only the musicians of the band were welcomed as was tradition, but also, the new musicians of the orchestra formed part of this tour and collection at home, "a very emotional act", said the president of the Xàbia Band, Manolo Berenguer.
As for the special program by Santa Cecilia, the concerts will begin on November's 10, with the orchestra of the Center Artístic Musical de Xàbia. Subsequently, on Friday 16, the concert will be in charge of the Youth Band and the Young Orchestra. The November 17 will be the concert of the Band who will close this series of concerts.
The director of the band, Carles Samblancat, indicated that for Santa Cecilia, "tradition mandates preparing a special concert, so it will be offered The Vall de la Murta, a symphony of Andrés Valero, very difficult and the Divertimento of Oliver Vespi, also a work difficult to interpret, by the most modern and most demanding language ".
On the first work, The Vall de la Murta, said the director that is a landscape of Alzira that premiered at the 2002 in the international contest and describes the Cavall Bernat, which is the top of the Vall de la Murta. In total, 70 musicians will perform this concert with the new additions of the band.
For its part, the director of the young band, Oscar Rosa, said that last week they made some tests for all who wanted to be members of the band, played fragments of the works that are scheduled and all were able to defend the work and he felt that they could enter the band.
Finally, the director of the young orchestra, Sergio Camarasa, said that they are working since July with a play by Tchaikovsky, "It started with an arrangement although I later thought that the original work was better so that the students had a fairly high step where they arrived and they have succeeded". Camarasa thinks it will be an unexpected concert for the audience since the musicians are very young, but it will be a good concert in which they will play with wind instruments and percussion.
All concerts will be in the parish of Sant Bertomeu.
