The life of juliette slama has made a 180 degree turn when one of his dreams is fulfilled, reaching the world of fashion and stepping on the catwalks. Being chosen one of the 13 applicants, out of more than 100, to represent Spain in the International Beauty Contest, has caused a whole change in her day to day life.
Juliette has changed the heat of the kitchen for that of the spotlights. Photos, runway classes, makeup and travel have been filling her schedule for a few months. Undoubtedly, a great preparation to get the title of Miss Universe Spain and of course, if possible, that of Miss Universe. And, Slama, despite wanting to dedicate herself to the catwalk since she was little, had never tried in this world, "living in a small town, you do not have the same opportunities as in a city," says the young woman, so He chose to follow the path of his other passion, cooking.
I study in Le Cordon Bleu from Paris and became a chef, but the fashion thorn was still nailed. So being young and fearless, five months ago he took a risk and bet on becoming a model. He traveled to Barcelona, started in this world for the first time, and despite the COVID situation, in which the search for job opportunities has been complicated, he got several jobs, such as parades and photo sessions.
His naturalness, simplicity, humility and transparency, are the qualities that Slama highlights in his personality and those that, so far, are opening doors for him. A month ago, and without experience, she met the demanding requirements of the National Beauty Pageant and became a finalist.
These days, Juliette travels to Milan, capital of fashion, thanks to the support and commitment of an agency, where she will stay all month, until the concentration that will be in Tenerife, from October 10 to 17.
Short term future
The future of this young woman from Xàbia is set, for the moment, on winning the crown and obtaining the direct pass to Miss Universe as a Spanish representative and traveling to Israel, in December, to qualify for the maximum beauty title. But traveling to Israel, for Juliette, will also be an added joy, "I lived in Israel for several months and it would be like coming home," says Slama.
But for this, it continues, on the one hand, needing the support of citizens through social networks. Juliette is immersed in her preparation for the contest, "for me it is like a challenge, I know that I play at a disadvantage because it is my first time in this world, but I am clear that I am going to be myself, I do not intend to show something that I am not ". The young model also appreciates all the support she has received so far from the people of Xàbia and the region, "I hope I can live up to it and return with the title all the support I am receiving," he adds.
The next goal? Juliette is clear about dedicating herself to the world of fashion. "Once the contest is over and depending on how my future is in the short term it will vary, but I have it clear that I want to enjoy this time and see if Milan opens doors for me and I manage to parade in Paris or New York", indicates the aspiring Miss Universe , who adds that after being a model, she would love to open her own restaurant based on healthy cuisine with Asian flair.
Who is Juliette Slama
She was born in 1997 in Jávea, a sports lover since she was a child, she attended primary school at the CEIP Port of Xàbia and the secondary ones in the IES Nº1. Later he studied at the 'Le Cordon Bleu' Haute Cuisine School in Paris. She speaks four languages: French, English, Spanish and Valencian and since she was 18 years old she has been traveling alone around the world, proving to be an independent person, "I love to travel and I do it alone to get to know, from within, each one of the cities and countries I go to. Its people, its customs and its gastronomy, what it takes me to learn its cuisine", explains Juliette.
His 1,78 cm height and his measurements of 82 chest, 61 waist and 89 hips have led him to move to Barcelona and then make the international leap to Milan. She has managed to be one of the 13 candidates for the title of Miss Universe Spain 2021, and if she succeeds, she will fight to be proclaimed Miss Universe 2021.
