Mayor, José Chulvi, and the Councilor for Education, Montse Villaverde, have received today the students of the institutes of Herford (Germany) and Number 1 of Xàbia who participate in the exchange program "Learning Sustainabilty- Sustainable Learning".
During this week, 16 young Germans and their two teachers will be in Xàbia getting to know the population and working together with their fellow Xabieros in the project on sustainability and the environment that serves as the axis of the program. In April, those from Xàbia will carry out the mobility and will travel to Germany, an enriching experience.
Some of the topics covered in this program are waste management, the use of bicycles, the existence of pedestrian areas or the promotion of local products.
The municipal officials welcomed the students and explained the municipality's commitment to sustainability, the actions implemented in recent years and the challenges of achieving balanced and respectful tourism.
