El Javea Town Hall has approved through an agreement of the governing board the technical specifications for contracting the drafting of the basic project, environmental authorization, execution, health and safety study and other specific projects related to the reform and rehabilitation works of the Casa dels Xolbi (or Casa Candelaria) for a tender budget of 152.410,51 euros (VAT included).
Bids may be submitted once the tender notice has been published on the Public Sector Procurement Platform.
The rehabilitation of the Casa dels Xolbi (also popularly known as La Candelaria) is included in a line of interventions subsidized by the Department of Housing and Bioclimatic Architecture aimed at urban actions, especially rehabilitation of municipal heritage buildings, both of a social, cultural and / or historical nature.
The projected work is for the structural sanitation of the building and its roof, as well as to seal cracks and repair the water or sanitation networks. Once the structural security of the property is guaranteed, the Xàbia City Council would propose its conversion into a cultural space.
The Gothic palace known as the Casa de los Xolbi was acquired by the City Council in 2005. It is located at the crossroads between Roques, Loreto and Escola streets, within the space formerly delimited by the walls and a few meters from where the Portal del Mar was The building is a large house with 34 rooms of various sizes and functions, spread over four floors and is one of the oldest and most interesting buildings that are preserved in the town.
