The City Council of Xàbia begins the construction works of the sewerage in els Castellans

13 September 2021 - 15: 12

El Javea Town Hall informs that, as a result of the start of the works to build the new sewer collector in the Castellans area, circulation will be conditioned in the coming weeks. For the moment, as of today, September 13, the section between Jurados / Ángel Doménech street and Vitoria street is cut off to traffic, offering residents access via lastres street (Nova Xàbia) or Pic del Monsià as an alternative. The works on this section are expected to last between one and two weeks.

From Public Works they indicate that the forecast is to carry out the work in small sections, making them coincide with the crossings with other roads in order to minimize the inconvenience and guarantee as much as possible the access to the neighborhood.

It has started in the area closest to Avenida Ángel Domenech and will progressively progress until the connection with Calle Córdoba.

The Montgó 3 collector project is being executed by the company Categor Obras y Proyectos SL and will involve a municipal investment of € 330.219,94 (VAT included). With the entry into service of this sanitation work, all homes located less than 100 meters from the collector will be obliged to connect to the public sewage network.

After a first collective informational meeting, the Town Hall is holding practically individualized meetings on a daily basis with those affected to explain the planning of the work and what their obligations are.

The main concerns are who will pay for the cost of the collector, which will be 100% financed by the City Council and will not involve special contributions, and who will do the private work necessary to connect the homes to the public network. In this sense, the Consistory has made it clear that individuals can choose whether to hire their trusted plumbers or bricklayers or the company that is in charge of the public part, which will leave the connections ready at the door of each home to facilitate the maximum Connection.

For this work it is necessary to request a minor work license or responsible declaration (free) and request the connection fee to the sewer system, which amounts to about 50 euros.
The obligation to connect will be effective when the work is received and the sewer system is in operation.

The Montgó 3 collector is the first phase of the municipal plan to expand the sewerage network to the disseminated one in which around 8 million euros will be invested and which, in global data, will allow some 900 homes to connect to the public network and stop discharge their wastewater into septic tanks, thus reducing potential underground contamination.

With this plan, the City Council addresses a historical problem that affects hundreds of homes and is part of the necessary modernization of the wastewater collection and treatment systems to maintain future levels of development, well-being and health.

We have IBIs of 1st-class towns, but 3rd-class infrastructures. Of course it is to run away and not look back. Much photo, and little to do. They do not earn their salary!

In Castellans !!!! What happens, there are no areas within the area closest to the town that do not need it (Sortetes,; Alta, etc).
