The City of Xàbia pays tribute to five local policemen for their retirement

Vicente Cardona, Vicente Ivars, Alberto Tur, Miguel Sapena and Javier Garde are the five local Xàbia police officers who today, January 31, 2019, have had a simple farewell act in the plenary hall of the Javea Town Hall for his retirement, after surrendering, more than three decades, to public service.

Specifically, Vicente Cardona Buigues, was 42 years of service, Miguel Sapena Sala, 37 years of service, Alberto Tur Miralles, 37 years of service, Francisco Javier Garde Fernandez-Fontecha, 37 years of service, the last 6 in Xàbia and Vicente Ivars Cardona, 35 years of service, who could not attend the event.

The five were clothed by all their companions, where the chief steward, José Antonio MonfortHe said it was an emotional and deserved act that he was proud of and satisfied with his retirement, "In good health, you have been our teachers and we were left helpless", concluded Monfort.

Councilor for Citizen Security, Pepa Gisbert, he said: "You have fulfilled beyond your obligations as police officers, you are references for all of us and I invite you to continue collaborating with civil society because you are very good."

Mayor, José ChulviHe stressed that "Saying goodbye is difficult, we say goodbye to a group of excellent professionals and good people, and as mayor I have had the privilege of sharing your work with you. It is time to enjoy with the family in this new stage of life".

The act ended with the delivery of plaques to the honorees by the mayor, the mayor and the councilor as a souvenir and to record the gratitude of the City of Xàbia to his dedication. Now, throughout the 2019, a total of 10 police officers will retire and until new places are announced they will be, in Xàbia, little more than 60 effective.
