The architect and painter Manuel Jorge has passed away at 91 years of age. Although he was born in Lugo, he had been residing in Xàbia for nearly 60 years. Manuel Jorge designed different houses that now remain in our town and for which he distinguished himself.
His wife is the well-known Finnish painter Christina Snellman. Both developed a large part of their professional careers in our municipality.
Manuel, who also established the Manuel Jorge Foundation to preserve and publicize his work, since he never wanted to sell, combined his two passions in the municipality of Xàbia; architecture and painting.
