The Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports has planned a significant expansion of the Professional Training offer for the coming year, which includes the creation of 6.000 new places through the implementation of 181 training cycles and 28 new specialization courses. Of the new places that will be offered, 2.500 correspond to the regions of Alicante, about 900 to those of Castellón and 2.600 to those of Valencia.
According to the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, Vicent Marzà, "on the one hand, we have expanded the offer of training cycles, and on the other, we have designed an important line of action in the implementation of specialization courses, the so-called 'masters' of VET This expansion of VET has a global geographical dimension of important implementation that aims to bring VET studies closer to the entire population, extending the cycles throughout the territory and linking them to the demand of the productive fabric of each region ".
"It is also a strategy for Valencians to choose to train through FP, which is a guarantee of employability and access to jobs with decent working conditions," he assured.
The 181 training cycles with which they expand the offer are 25 of Basic FP, 60 of medium degree, of which 6 will be in the blended mode, and 96 of higher degree, 18 of them blended.
In the regions of Alicante, 79 new cycles will be implemented: 14 of Basic FP, 24 of intermediate grade, 2 of them semi-presential, and 41 of higher level, of which 5 will be taught in the semi-classroom modality. This extension of the offer is completed with 12 specialization courses.
In the case of the Castellón regions, in addition to 3 new specialization courses, 28 new cycles will be offered: 5 of Basic FP, 13 of intermediate grade, one of which will be blended, and 10 of higher grade, two of them blended .
In the regions of Valencia, 74 new cycles will be opened: 6 of Basic Vocational Training, 23 of medium grade, 3 of them semi-presential, and 45 of higher grade, 11 of which will be semi-presential. In addition, 13 specialization courses will be offered.
Six new training cycles
The 181 new cycles of Basic Vocational Training, intermediate level and higher level that will be implemented next year are mostly an extension of the existing offer. However, there are six degrees, two higher and four medium, which will be offered for the first time in the Valencian Vocational Training system.
As for the higher cycles, which will be established in the offer of several institutes next year, they are the Physical Conditioning of the professional family of Physical and Sports Activities; and the Organization and Control of Construction Works.
In middle-grade studies, the Food Products Marketing cycle is implemented for the first time. New is also the medium grade cycle of Food Products Manufacturing. Another new medium degree title that is being implemented is that of Technician or Technician in Maintenance of Sports and Recreation Boats.
Also new is the medium degree of Structures Assembly and Installation of Aeronautical Systems, which will train technical personnel in the assembly of structures and installation of aeronautical systems. With this new degree, the project to implement FP in aircraft maintenance at Castellón airport begins, a proposal that will serve to boost the productive fabric of the northern regions in a strategic sector such as aeronautics.
Expansion throughout the territory
In the new offer of higher degrees, which adds 96 cycles with more than 3.100 places, the expansion of the Computer and Communications family with 16 cycles stands out. In this group it is also worth mentioning the 6 new cycles of Administration of Computer Systems in Network.
The other two professional families that will grow the most in the offer of higher cycles are Commerce and Marketing and Sociocultural Services and the Community.
In the case of Commerce and Marketing, 7 new upper cycles of Transport and Logistics stand out. With regard to the medium grade, in which 60 cycles with some 1.900 places will be implemented, it is worth highlighting the expansion of cycles with high demand, such as that of Attention to People in a Dependency Situation.
Specialization courses, the 'masters' of FP
The Conselleria implemented for the first time for the current school year the specialization courses of FP, popularly known as the 'masters' of FP. They consist of between 600 and 720 hours of advanced training and allow people who have completed a higher cycle to deepen and update their preparation in the new techniques and tools that the labor market demands in different strategic sectors.
For the next academic year, 2021-2022, the specialization courses are expanded with five new titles: Additive Manufacturing Through the Use of 3D Printing; Video Game Development and Virtual Reality; Artificial Intelligence and Big Data; Cell cultures; and Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Safety Maintenance.
The new specialization courses are added to those already implemented in this 2020-2021 academic year: Intelligent Manufacturing, aimed at promoting industrial innovation; Cybersecurity in Information Technology and Communication Environments; Cybersecurity in Operating Technology Environments, designed to favor both digitization and security in automated industrial facilities; Digitization of Industrial Maintenance; and Artisan Bakery and Pastries.
Admission and registration calendar
It should be remembered that the submission of applications for online admission on the telematricula.es website, both in Basic FP and in the intermediate and higher degree cycles, will be from May 21 to June 1.
Enrollment in Basic FP will go from July 16 to 22 and from July 23 to 30 in intermediate and higher grade.
I would like to know if Xabia maintains a permanent dialogue between the Directorate of the educational center, the city council (education, youth and ADL) and employers to decide the most interesting training cycles with a better job opportunity at the local or regional level.
