The Deputy for Roads, Alejandro Morant, together with the spokesperson for the Popular Party of Xàbia Rosa Cardona, has visited, this noon, the state in which the CV-742 road that leads to Cabo de la Nao is located, after the completion of the improvement works carried out by the provincial administration.
The works, consisting of improving road safety, have involved an investment of 317.018 euros. Specifically, the action has consisted of the structural rehabilitation of the kilometer point 5,290 and 11,500, in which the improvement of the pavement has been carried out to increase the waterproofing and adherence, the integral renewal of the horizontal and vertical signage, the treatment of margins with clearances of visibility and improvement of pedestrian safety, reorganization of commercial access and improvement of longitudinal drainage.
An action, which in the words of the deputy, "is an important effort that the provincial institution is making to facilitate mobility and improve the safety of travel on the roads of the province."

During the visit, the deputy took the opportunity to present the feasibility study for the improvement of this same road, in the section between kilometer points 3,800 and 5,200 (between the Consum roundabout to the Toscamar area), which would respond to the citizen demand about the pedestrian crossing on this road. This project has a budget of 960.000 euros, of which the provincial institution will contribute 620.000 euros, assuming the rest by the council.
Morant has indicated that this study has already been provided to the Town hall, "so I am confident that the City Council will accept this study, fulfill its part of the commitment and be able to start these works as soon as possible". And it is that, as the provincial deputy has qualified, "the council should carry out the transfer of land, the redevelopment of this kilometer and a half providing sidewalks and public lighting." It should be noted that this improvement project includes a cycling lane.
Alejandro Morant has clarified that although it is a CV and these types of roads do not consider pedestrians a priority, "it has been dealt with in the drafting of the project that the coexistence of the two is linked in the best possible way, since the increase from urbanization, this road becomes more of a street than a highway. "
For her part, the popular spokesperson thanked the Provincial Council for their visit and involvement for responding to citizen demands as far as possible.
