The Provincial Council of Alicante gives the green light to the construction of a roundabout of 18 meters in diameter at the entrance-exit of the municipality in the direction of Jávea. In this way, the local government, led by Més Benitatxell, promotes a project that eliminates one of the most conflictive points of the road network and provides security for pedestrians by creating sidewalks of 2 meters wide.
In addition, in this southern access there is the detour to the urbanization of the top del Sol. The start-up in this development of the international school, with 1.100 students, has meant that during peak hours traffic increases at this point and the collapse causes many residents to look for dissuasive routes. They are rural roads that are not prepared to absorb the circulation of a structural road such as the CV-740.
The mayor already has a study that proposes a solution to this urgent traffic problem. Last Friday, in a meeting he had with the Department of Roads of the Diputación de Alicante, he already obtained the approval of the provincial institution, responsible for the CV-740, to carry out the works.
The project aims to build a roundabout of 18 meters in diameter with which it has been proven that rigid buses would turn without difficulty. In addition, traffic is agile and current bottlenecks are avoided.
