Four young people arrested for leaving another in a coma after a fight

The Civil Guard has arrested four young people between 19 and 23 in Calpe as alleged perpetrators of a crime of injury. The victim, a young man of 21 years, has remained in a coma for several days in the ICU of Dénia hospital after having a fight.

The events occurred on the 05: 00 hours of the morning of the day 27 of August, in the immediate vicinity of the entertainment venues located on the Paseo Maritimo de la Fossa beach in the town of Peñón. That night, several young people participated in a massive fight that ended up with one of those involved on the ground, unconscious, after being violently hit in the face.

Several patrols of the Civil Guard, Local Police and an ambulance moved to the place, who assisted the injured and transferred him to the Calpe Health Center. Once there, when bleeding from one of the ears was seen and began to convulse, he had to be quickly transferred to the Dénia Hospital, where he was admitted to the ICU.

With barely data on the identity of the participants in the brawl and the impossibility of giving testimony to the injured person for being in a coma, in order to identify all those involved and determine the degree of participation of each of them, the researchers had to perform active efforts and numerous interviews with waiters and managers of the nearby entertainment venues, resulting in the complete identification and subsequent detention of the alleged perpetrators.

Some of those involved, have a police record for crimes of similar characteristics, calling attention to the participation of one of them in a homicide occurred in the vicinity of a pub in the town of Jalón (A), where after a fight a young man lost life as a result of the injuries suffered.

The four detainees, all men of Spanish (21), Moroccan (19), Romanian (21) and Ukrainian (23) nationalities, have been released, and must appear in the Court when required.

The injured young man left the coma and was already discharged.
