The Civil Guard, within the prevention and security plan in leisure areas, has arrested two men for committing
thefts and robberies with violence and intimidation in areas close to establishments dedicated to nightlife in the town of Xàbia.
In addition, both, together with a third party, have been charged with a crime of riot. The Investigating Court of Dénia has ordered the provisional detention of both criminals. The investigations began in July of last year, when the Civil Guard learned of the commission of several robberies with violence and intimidation in leisure areas of this town where apparently the modus operandi and the perpetrators were very similar.
Therefore, to identify and locate the perpetrators of these events, the Investigation Area of the Main Post of the Civil Guard of Xàbia began the operation do.
In a first phase, the agents analyzed the modus operandi. The criminals selected their victims in nightlife areas of Jávea, then followed them until they found themselves alone in more remote and solitary areas. Immediately afterwards, while one of the criminals distracted her by offering her some kind of drug or asking for tobacco, the other approached her from behind, not hesitating to apply physical violence if necessary to obtain her loot. In some of the robberies, they even left one of their victims unconscious. Immediately, the agents analyzed the evidence obtained, and as a result of this study, directed their suspicions to two criminals residing in Xàbia and known by their police records for
facts related to property and drug trafficking.
Once it was possible to prove the participation of those identified in ten crimes of robbery with violence, two crimes of theft and one crime of fraud for using a stolen bank card, which occurred in Jávea, and given the difficulty of locating them as they do not have known addresses , a police device was deployed to catch the criminals.
As a result of said device, on the 01st of this month of March, in one of the streets of the Xabiero municipality, both criminals were located with a third party. The three had started a fight, among themselves, using a large machete and a hammer, which apparently had started over a topic related to the sale of drugs.
Immediately, the three individuals received medical assistance due to the minor injuries that had been caused among them, to later end up in the offices of the Civil Guard of Jávea, where they were arrested for a crime of riot. In addition, the two investigated for the robberies were charged with the crimes of robbery with violence and intimidation, theft and fraud.
All those involved, three men of Moroccan nationality between the ages of 22 and 26, along with the weapons used, have been made available to the Investigating Court of Dénia, which has ordered the imprisonment of the two criminals who dedicated themselves to stealing, and freedom for the third party.
