The Popular Party of Xàbia has wanted to express, in a statement, "our deep indignation at the constant demagogic attacks of the former mayor José Chulvi and the local socialist group."
The Popular Party refers to the last plenary session corresponding to the month of August: "we were accused of breaking a municipal ordinance in favour of complying with another very important one for Xàbia, the cleaning of the streets."
The PP regrets that this situation "does not lie in the accusation itself, but in the hypocrisy of a political leader who shows himself to be a profound demagogue or who simply spent a lot of time in Valencia with our municipality completely abandoned. Proof of this is that, without going any further, 15 days before leaving the mayor's office, his government started a campaign called 'It's not the place' where he did exactly the same thing he is now criticizing: hanging posters on lampposts.
The popular statement indicates that "this act shows that the accusations launched today by the PSOE are nothing more than a desperate attempt to divert the attention of the citizens from their own lack of commitment and the ineffectiveness of their management over the years."
«From Populares Xàbia we want to alert the public about these unfounded attacks, which only seek to create confusion and deceive our neighbours. We firmly reject the policy of the media circus, which only serves to divert attention from the real problems and needs of our town. We are committed to continue working seriously and responsibly for the well-being and cleanliness of Xàbia, always prioritising the interests of the people over the politics of show business. We invite all citizens not to be fooled by distraction and manipulation tactics, and to maintain confidence in a team that works with dedication and honesty for the common good», the Popular Party team states in its statement.
It's sad if Chulvi is taking his mayoral loss against a town that he dedicated several to building.
