Culture seeks information about Balenciaga's experiences in Xàbia

November 29 from 2021 - 10: 28

Next year 2022, the 50th anniversary of the death of the well-known couturier, Cristóbal Balenciaga, is commemorated. One of the great references of sewing died in Xàbia and therefore, the Town hall wants to remember this outstanding figure in the history of Spanish fashion.

To pay tribute to Balenciaga and review his relationship with Xàbia, the Department of Culture, in close collaboration with the Gipuzkoan photographer Pedro Usabiaga and his team, is preparing an exhibition project on the couturier that will take place next summer in the municipal art galleries.

The exhibition curator is collecting as much information as possible about the seasons that Balenciaga spent in the town in order to reflect it on the project and enrich it at the local level. In this way, an appeal is made to the older population of the area that may have known or had a relationship with the couturier in those years.

Any related information can be sent to the email cultura@ajxabia.org and they will contact you to deepen it.

The City Council should pay a lot of money to someone, whoever, to gather information on this man.
What cannot be is that in the Department of Culture they put "themselves" to do something, not that, please, they have to touch their eggs with two hands.
I strongly ask that a private company take care of whatever it is, whatever it takes, which is not money for money, there is a lot to spend, EVERYTHING!
Merry Christmas to all socialists in general, also to those who want to be one day, I mean those who dream of having a salary doing NOTHING.
